BRUCE'S STORY: After 22 days in the shelter, Bruce has been medically deadlined. He is scheduled to be killed Thursday, September 17 at 5 PM.
Bruce was found wandering a busy street in Perris with his buddy, Mr. Bubbles. He arrived covered in painful foxtails — so many that they were embedded throughout his body and draining infection. The shelter had to shave nearly all of his beautiful coat away.
But that wasn't the worst of it.
X-rays revealed that Bruce has been living with a chronically dislocated elbow. His leg may still be saved with specialized orthopedic surgery. Without it, he may lose the leg.
And through all of this?
Bruce is still incredibly sweet.
He loves people. He participated in playgroup. He eats, drinks, walks outside and greets his caregivers with kindness — seemingly unaware that the clock is running out on him.
Bruce survived the streets.
He survived the foxtails.
He has lived with a painful injured leg for who knows how long.
He shouldn't survive all of that just to die alone in a shelter kennel.
We want to give Bruce the chance nobody has given him yet — a chance to heal.
